Dear Diary

My journey from grief to gratitude

In 2009, my life was turned upside down when my brother with Down syndrome suddenly died. I turned to creative writing and started journalling to process the grief. I set out to remember what my brother taught me about life so I could put it into practice. While I couldn’t bring my brother back, I could continue his memory and carry his legacy forward.

What started as a 400-word reflection in my journal evolved into a 40,000-word book—a collection of the principles he lived by and the values I strive to carry forward.

What began as an expression of grief gradually transformed into a source of joy.
